Brookside Drive
Spanish revival with warm contermporary feel
This San Anselmo Spanish Revival remodel honors the owner's heritage through vibrant Talavera tile—featured as a dramatic backsplash and framing the patio passage—balanced by contemporary oak and white cabinetry with blackened steel hardware. We opened the kitchen to the dining area, flooding the space with natural light while terracotta pavers connect interior to exterior, where sunlight animates the handcrafted tile and warm wood details.

Material Contrast
Contemporary flat-panel cabinetry in oak and white pairs with blackened steel hardware and mesh-front uppers, balancing traditional warmth with modern restraint.
Talavera Tile
Vibrant hand-painted Mexican tiles create focal points at the range backsplash, arched display niche, and patio door surround
Arched Threshold
A tile-framed arched passage to the patio echoes the home's original 1920s architecture while framing views of the landscape and filtering natural light

It feels like it was always part of the house, but at the same time it's completely ours and modern. We love how it honors the home's history while feeling fresh and new.
